BIBBY SCULPTURES IN DAMIEN HIRST'S EXHIBITION 15th November 2012A few years ago I sculpted twelve life-size bronze reconstructions of extinct species from Mauritius and the other Mascarene islands, for a project called, "Bones to Bronze" aimed at raising awareness of the loss of these species (which include the most famous extinct species of them all, the Dodo) and raising funds to aid ongoing conservation work on the islands.At the time, Damien Hirst bought one of each [bar one]. SLADMORE EXHIBITION [Sept 12th - Oct 5th] 3rd August 2012All the new pieces for my September/October exhibition at Sladmore Contemporary, Bruton Place, Mayfair, are finally completed and photographed.Including the 1/5th scale bronze maquette for the life-size Grizzly Bear, commissioned by Brown University, Rhode Island, to stand outside their new sports facility, and the bronze of Eric, the Highland Bull, celebrity star of the BBC's Countryfile program. The private view will be held on the evening of September 12th and the exhibition will then run until October 5th. Photographs of all the sculptures can be seen in the "New Sculpture" section of "Gallery" on this website. During the exhibition, in addition to the 17 new sculptures on show, there will also be a selection of my other bronzes. LIFE-SIZE KODIAK GRIZZLY BEAR BRONZE 26th April 2012I'm now working on a 25 1/2 inch tall maquette for a life-size bronze Kodiak Grizzly Bear, to stand outside the new sports hall at Brown University, Rhode Island.The Kodiak bear is their mascot, and since bears, grizzlies in particular, are my absolute favourite animal [some say I share certain traits with the grizzly] I am really enjoying myself! The final life-size bear and base will stand fifteen feet tall. COUNTYFILE'S ERIC THE HIGHLAND BULL COMPLETED 10th March 2012I've now finished the sculpture of Adam Henson's, [of Countryfile fame] Highland bull, Eric. I took the finished clay sculpture over to show Adam last week. He certainly seemed pleased, and would like to show the finished bronze on Countryfile, so keep your eyes peeled! Scroll down to see Eric from start to finished clay. I'll put some pictures of the finished clay in the gallery as well.I hope you like him! The first cast of the edition of twelve should be in bronze by mid June.               SCULPTURE OF COUNTRYFILE BULL, ERIC 23rd February 2012I am thrilled to be sculpting Adam Henson's Highland Bull, Eric.Both Adam and Eric are famous for their appearances on the BBC's Countryfile program, here in the UK. I recently visited Adam's farm in the Cotswolds, to meet Eric and get all the neccessary reference to start the sculpture, which I am now working on. The clay should be completed by the end of March. The finished bronze sculpture of Eric will be included in my exhibition of new work, to be held at Sladmore Contemporary in Mayfair, this September. Look out for the sculpture of Eric on Countryfile sometime before then. I love Highlands and have already sculpted the Royal Show multiple champion, Crubach of Redrullion. Eric, or "Airigh Bhoidheach of Ormsary" to give him his full title, is another fine example of the breed and will make a fantastic bronze!  iNEW DARTMOOR PONY STALLION 12th December 2011I've just added photos of the original clay of my next piece - a beautiful Dartmoor Pony Stallion called Moortown Countryman, to the gallery.The bronze will be in my exhibition this September, at Sladmore Contemporary. More pieces coming soon, but in the meantime: MERRY CHRISTMAS ! NEW BRONZES - DORMOUSE, etc. 12th December 2011The last of the edition of my first Climbing Dormouse was sold a few months back, but people kept asking if any were left in the edition, so I sculpted version two, which is now in bronze - photos in the gallery.The first cast of my Wild Boar will also be available from December 15th. I have also uploaded some fantastic new photos of the Black Rhino into the gallery. They were taken by professional photographer, Steve Russell. Steve is superbly talented and a really nice guy; he has done all the photography of my new pieces for the last few years. And I'm still hard at work on the last few pieces for my exhibition at Sladmore Contemporary in September 2012. - I'll be uploading photos of the latest piece, a Dartmoor Pony stallion, soon. WILD BOAR & DOGS EXHIBITION 31st October 2011I've just posted photos of the original clay of my latest sculpture - A Wild Boar, in the Gallery. The sculpture depicts a massive Black Forest boar in his prime, hackles raised.This is a subject that I've loved and wanted to tackle since childhood, and at last I've done it! I'm really pleased with the finished clay and can't wait to see him in bronze. The bronze will be available next Spring [2012] Also, my bronze of the Bloodhound, Trialfinder Fortitude and my life-size bronze Shih Tzu sculpture will be on show at: Sladmore Gallery, 57 Jermyn Street, St James's, London, as part of their exhibition entitled, "The Dog Show", which runs from November 2nd to December 10th 2011. NEW RED RUBY BULL & WILD BOAR 18th October 2011I've just added photos of my sculpture of the phenomenal Red Ruby Devon bull, Yeomadon Ferdinand [Freddie to his friends]. With eleven interbreed championship titles, Freddie is a spectacular example of the breed. Absolutely massive, with a wonderfully gentle nature, he was a pleasure to sculpt.The photos show the original clay. The bronze will be available early in the New Year. I'm now working on a sculpture of a Wild Boar - one of my favourite animals and a subject that I have wanted to sculpt since childhood, but never have - until now!
