Casting Process

All Nick's work is produced in small limited editions, by hand, using the Lost Wax process [Cire perdue] which was first used over 5500 years ago.  The basic method used today remains unchanged and is still an enormously skilled and labour intensive process.

All Bronzes are cast by Pangolin Editions Foundry, Chalford, Gloucestershire.  Chosen for their outstanding skill, craftsmanship and commitment to quality; Pangolin are probably the best Fine Art Foundry in Europe, casting the works of Rembrandt Bugatti, Lynn Chadwick, Geoffrey Dashwood, Antony Gormley and Damien Hirst, to name but a few.  Nick has used them exclusively since 1991.  Only a foundry as exceptional as Pangolin, is capable of reproducing the detail and subtlety of form found within Nick's work.
